The Y WA’s work in the Newman community has been recognised by the Pilbara Community Services Excellence Awards, with three nominations for the organisation and its workers.
Both services, the Newman Early Learning Centre and Remote School Attendance Strategy service, have been nominated in the Organisation category, while RSAS Coordinator Lee-Anne Ugle has been nominated in the Individuals category.
It one of many nominations for Lee-Anne, who was previously nominated for the Newman's Business Excellence Awards 2021, a Finalist in the Youth Worker Category at Youth Work Awards WA 2021, the national Y’s Staff member of the Year in 2021 and the Shire of East Pilbara's Citizen of the Year Award in 2022.
The team are so delighted to be nominated - our Newman ELC Centre Director Leeanne Coombes shared a few words with us "We are very honoured to receive this nomination along with so many wonderful businesses across the Pilbara, so we thank everyone who has nominated our teams. We are all proud of the work we do and the impacts we can make in both YMCA programs. The voting has officially opened so we are reaching out to our families and community to ask everyone to complete the two question survey and vote for the YMCA, we would be very grateful for your support."
Voting is open to the public from now until September 9th. This is a wonderful opportunity to get behind our staff and services that work in the community, and give them some recognition for the amazing work they do!
